Wednesday May 12 2010, the national VHZ meeting started on the airfield of Asperden (near Venlo in Germany) The meeting ended on May 16. Of course our whole group was present. We took the T31 "TopLess" with us and we made several nice, short, flights..... We could not use our flagship, "Top D'rop" this time, because we didn't have a trailer. But as the saying goes: every problem had a solution...... |
From July 30 to August 8 the VGC Rally was held on Tibbenham Airfield. Astrid and Martijn, Bep and Gerard and Jan Forster with his Andrea, the Ka6 and the T31 TopLess were all there. We had some nice flights there and the TopLess made a record flight of 40 minutes.... |
On September 4 2010 we rigged the Top D'rop. We all made several flights and some members of our gliding club had the opportunity to fly the T21c as well. |
From September 13 to September 18 the autumn rally of the dutch vintage gliderclub, the VHZ, took place. We were guests of an airfield in Zeeland: Axel. Gerard, Bep, Martijn, Astrid and Peter were participants of the Rally. Jan Gründemann and Marjolein visited for a day. The weather was not very good , but it was very cozy, and after all that is what it is all about..... |
March 12 2011 During the winter we have been busy with designing a trailer for T21c. Martin madesome drawings and from there we went shopping at the various trailer builders. After some difficulty we obtained some substantially priced quotes this led. So eventually we decided to build the trailer ourselves. The welding was done at the company where Peter had built the trailer for his Grunau Baby PH190. The steel profiles are ordered and on Friday, March 12 we started ("we" actually meaning Jan G. and Peter D.) with welding together the frame of the trailer. |

The trailer has now got wheels. The first "Roll Out" is a fact! |
May 2011: We put the T38 for sale as our the fleet was too large. On April 30 the Swiss gliderpilot Silvio Pollo and his wife Astrid, came to Hilversum, to bring the Grasshopper back with them to Switserland. The work of the T21 trailer has been going well. Jan and Peter have installed the plastic plating. |
June 2011 In June we visited the VHZ Rally in Salland. It was a great succes, the weather was nice, there was a cozy atmosphere and there were no incidents. Jan Gründemann and Peter still have a long way to go with the construction of the trailer. On the picture you can see the trailer behind the car of Jan. Soon the trailer will be certified by the RDW. |
July and August During this period, the group members visited a number of events: Peter and Jan G were at Udersleben, Germany, together with the OLC of the GoZC. There they and flew with the LS3 . In July Astrid, Martijn and Jan F visited an oldtimer rally in Italy: Osoppo. They brouhght along the Ka6 with its wings painted in a new color: pink. They had a good time with nice weather and a lot of thermals. At the end of July they went to the VGC rendez vous in Aalen Elchingen. As always small, cosy and well organised. Astrid and Martijn then returned home, while Jan went to the VGC rally at Spitzerberg, Austria. |
September 12-17 In the autumn the VHZ rally at Asperden took place. The whole team was present. Jan G came visited for a day along with Marjolein. The T31 "TopLess" participated and Astrid and Martijn had brought the K6. The weather was fine and we made several longer flights (but not with the T31. ....) |
December Jan Gründemann has sold his Slingsby T31 Motortutor PH-1121. The new owner is Willem den Baars, who is flying on the airfield of Haamstede. |
The K6 of Astrid and Martijn has a new look: they stripped the wings and covered the wings with Ceconite. After that the wings were painted with a new color: pink. Next year the fuselage will get its new look. Of course pink as well.... |
